Patty Callison Receives Volunteers of Lotus Quilt

Congratulations, Patty, for being a Volunteers of Lotus leader!  Last summer, we launched the “Volunteers of Lotus” Giving Group — a new opportunity for Lotus volunteers to join together to create an even bigger financial impact in support of the ethnic and musical diversity that Lotus brings to our town every year.

In honor of the launch, Lotus pioneer LuAnne Holladay handcrafted a gorgeous quilt out of the legacy of Lotus volunteer t-shirts…and we promised to give the quilt to one of our inaugural Volunteers of Lotus donors.  Long-time volunteer Patty Callison was the lucky honoree, and she is a perfect example of the many ways our community makes Lotus possible.

“Volunteering came naturally after my husband and I attended and loved the Lotus Festival for a few years,” says Patty.  “Being a retired children’s librarian, I was interested in programs for children in the community.  When volunteering with Lotus Blossoms became a possibility, I was eager to be involved — that was over 12 years ago!  I have found each year that my involvement with Lotus has grown. We have always financially supported Lotus but recently, when I found that I had some extra money and Lotus was trying to grow its Endowment, I wanted to share it with this organization I care so much about. I was able to make a substantial gift to Lotus, which I have never regretted.  In the future Lotus is also in my giving plan.”

Thank you, Patty!  And thank you to everyone who has joined Volunteers of Lotus so far — your donations bring the world to our community, and we are so grateful for your support.
