When an organization produces an annual event known to attract thousands and thousands of music and art fans to Bloomington every September, it’s easy to forget that the very same organization is a non-profit with just five folks on staff and a very limited budget. We couldn’t do it without the support of so many businesses and funders who believe in the Lotus mission and want to give back to their community.
With their help the 2018 Lotus World Music & Arts Festival brought the world to a record-setting 15,000 people from near and far.
In particular, did you know that the Lotus was able to offer 80+ HOURS of free Festival programming in this anniversary year? Our generous Presenting Sponsors — including Mectra Labs Inc., Indiana University Bloomington, and the IU Office of the Provost & Executive Vice President — led the way and made it possible for Lotus to double our schedule of free multicultural events, installations, and workshops.  Support from the National Endowment for the Arts is also fundamental to our outreach engagement.
Lotus sponsors underwrite critical expenses to bring the streets to life on Festival weekend, whether through the support of a specific venue, a special event, a particular artist, or general event operations. Nearly 100 sponsors contribute, including Producer Sponsors like Bloomington Brewing Co., Bloom Magazine, FAR Center for Contemporary Arts, Graduate Hotels, IU Kelley School of Business, IU School of Art, Architecture + Design, Ivy Tech Community College, Lucky’s Market, Needmore Coffee, One World Catering, Organized Living, Pizza X, Upland Brewing Co., and WTTS.  None of this could happen without their help, and the help of ALL of our sponsors at every level of support.
To all of our sponsors and funders in 2018 — thank you for giving the gift of Lotus to our community!
