Sancocho Music & Dance Collage
Dance and drumming of Cuba and Puerto Rico come to Lotus in the Park by way of Sancocho Music and Dance Collage. The group takes its name from a Latin American stew of meats, vegetables, and spices, and their workshop will introduce participants to signature “flavors” of music and dance traditions from the Spanish-speaking African diaspora — Cuban rumba and bailes orishas, Puerto Rican bomba, and more. Everyone is welcome to the Sancocho dance party; no experience necessary.
Presented in partnership with Traditional Arts Indiana
Saturday, Sept. 20
2:30 – 3:15 pm / Open-Air Pavilion, Lotus in the Park (Free)
