Percussionist Bernard Woma is a master of the Ghanaian gyil, or xylophone, which he has been playing since he was two years old.

Founder and director of the Dagara Music and Arts Center in Accra, Ghana, he is a gifted and experienced teacher: from school programs in Brooklyn, to performances for heads of state, Bernard’s work keeps him busy throughout the year, on at least two continents.

A Lotus in the Park favorite, he will lead a workshop in Ghanaian drumming and dance on Lotus Saturday. Sponsored by IU African Studies
