Lotus Receives Bloomington Arts Commission Grant

We are delighted to announce that Lotus has received a $2,500 grant from the Bloomington Arts Commission (BAC). The BAC reports  receiving thirty-two exceptional applications for the 2021 Grant for the Arts Program.  All proposed operational grants were evaluated based on their level of artistic quality, community impact, and organizational capacity.

Lotus is happy to use these funds to continue engaging the community. This summer we are presenting arts workshops to children from the Boys and Girls Club and the Banneker Community Center. Generous operational grants have helped Lotus sustain our commitment to community outreach during the global pandemic. We are sincerely grateful for the BAC’s commitment to stimulating and encouraging community appreciation for and participation in the arts.

“Lotus feels the embrace of our community, with financial support that helps us sustain programming and support staff in their outreach efforts,” Lotus Executive Director Tamara Loewenthal said. “We are grateful to live in a city that values the arts so highly.”
