With the 25th Lotus World Music & Arts Festival resting comfortably in our rearview mirrors, we can’t think of a better time to host the first-ever public events in the newly renovated Lotus venue!  Together with rock paper scissors, inc., we are hosting two events benefitting Lotus on Saturday, November 3.  Both ticketed events will support annual programming in the new Lotus venue.

The evening opens with a ticketed event with Lotus Festival alum Moira Smiley. A singer, composer, and a musical polygot, Moira’s ability as a vocal shape-shifter redefines her voice — which has been heard on feature films, BBC, PBS, NPR, and on over 60 albums.

After Moira’s performance, stick around for a dance party hosted by Indy’s DJ Kyle Long. As host of WFYI’s Cultural Manifesto and a writer for Nuvo, Kyle explores the merging of global music with more familiar American styles of music, like soul, hip-hop, and jazz.
