The Writers Guild at Bloomington partners with the Lotus Education & Arts Foundation to present a poetry reading at the 33rd annual Lotus World Music & Arts Festival, featuring Tony Brewer, Hiromi Yoshida, and Dylan Kennedy.
Writers Guild Mission
The Writers Guild at Bloomington is an association of writers committed to mutual support and the professional development of their craft. We foster interaction among writers as well as other artists, educators, and the Monroe County public, thereby enhancing the vibrancy of the arts and the writing community in the greater Bloomington area.
Featured Artists & Bios
Tony Brewer is a poet and audio artist from Bloomington, Indiana. He has published 13 books and chapbooks, most recently Chin Music (OAC Press, 2026). Tony has been offering Poetry On Demand at coffeehouses, museums, cemeteries, churches, bars, and art and music festivals for over fifteen years and was named Indiana’s 2024 Literary Champion by Indiana Humanities.
Dylan Kennedy
Hiromi Yoshida has volunteered for Lotus for 10 consecutive years, during which she served on various Lotus committees. In 2019, she was House Manager for the Merchandise Store. Now, she is the Chair of the Writers Guild at Bloomington, for which she curates its Last Sunday Poetry reading series. Hiromi is the author of four full-length poetry collections and seven poetry chapbooks.
