Join us on Thursday, February 18 for our final Lotus Virtual Winter Concert featuring Elida Almeida. Almeida’s warm and powerful voice paired with the Cape Verdian rhythms of batuque, coladera, and tabanka have garnered acclaim throughout Africa, Europe, and North America.

To begin the performance on Thursday, we will share some excerpts from Joshua Thompson’s wonderful and informative program entitled Black Keys: The Evolution of the Black Classical Arts. It’s an origin story, beautifully told through piano, movement, and voice.
