About this Event
Lotus is delighted to once again offer our Lotus Festival Unwind Yoga on Sunday of the virtual festival, allowing attendees to go beyond the music and movement and add breath to expand their joy. You are invited to a special live-stream workshop, Sunday, September 27th from 10 am – 12 pm. This event is free, and donations are warmly welcomed to support our year-round work.
Suggested supplies: Participants are encouraged to set up a small space with a mat, towel/blanket, water, and to have something to help with balance if needed (for example, a yoga block, book, or chair) nearby. In addition, bring a set of therapy balls or try subbing two new tennis balls and clean sock.
A playlist, for those wishing to enjoy music along with the practice, will be emailed via a Spotify link form along with the live-stream Zoom link the morning of the practice.
This class, taught by Eryn Blair and longtime Lotus Festival Unwind Yoga contributor and organizer Samantha Eibling, will combine a slow flowing yoga practice with Self Myofascial Release techniques throughout. These techniques reach our muscle fibers and connective tissues, creating the potential for new experiences within the yoga poses. More space and organization in our joints and fascia provides potential to access more strength and mobility than previously perceived. This practice will be accessible and appropriate for beginners as well as more advanced practitioners.
Eryn teaches from a kinesthetic perspective and promotes proper alignment to facilitate easier flow of energy and breath. Through pranayama and physical asana, she intends to give students the opportunity to explore the power of their foundation and the ability to expand beyond their perceived limitations. Eryn is RYT 200 and completed her teacher training at Vibe Yoga Studio in 2014. She also teaches at Yoga Mala and in the Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance at Indiana University.
As a teacher, Sam’s intention is to help students find clarity of purpose, embrace their inner-wisdom, and transform their insights into meaningful change in their lives. She is passionate about helping students build strength and flexibility, release tension, and unravel limiting beliefs; including conquering self-doubt and quieting negativity. Her alignment-based classes and programs are designed to foster physical and emotional well-being. Sam is a 500 e-RYT certified teacher, completing trainings with YogaFit, Core Power, and Vibe Yoga Studio. Most recently, she studied under Rolf Gates’ mentorship and completed Off the Mat Into the World’s Yoga, Purpose and Action Leadership Intensive. Currently, Sam is co-owner of Goods for Cooks and teaching yoga online through Samantha Eibling Yoga, LLC.
