Yeison Landero

Yeison Landero grew up immersed in the music and dance tradition of cumbia in San Jacinto, on the Atlantic coast of his native Colombia. The grandson of Andrés Landero, who was internationally known as the “King of Cumbia,” Yeison was studying the accordion and cumbia at his grandfather’s side by the time he was seven. Fast forward to now, and Yeison is the “Heir to Cumbia,” one of the genre’s greatest accordionists. He’s creating his own style within the tradition as he takes the music of his hometown to audiences around the world.
