26th Annual Lotus Blossoms World Bazaar Community Day

Join us in-person* at the Lotus Firebay on Saturday, April 10 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM for the 2021 Lotus Blossoms World Bazaar Community Day.

  •  Pick up Lotus Blossoms Outreach Kits featuring hands-on multicultural activities from community partners (register HERE if you can, but if you forget, you can still take home a kit on Saturday).

  • Take home supplies for making origami cranes, Lotus tattoos, cookies, and more!

  • View video tutorials from community artists.

  • Stream virtual concerts from the 2021 Lotus Blossom Artists.

  • Check out the Virtual Lotus Blossoms World Bazaar HERE. This year, our presenters have spent hours of their time creating activity sheets to replicate some of what they would have done together with you. Without their time and commitment, we would not have these pages to share. We owe them a huge debt of gratitude for being our partners in this year’s Bazaar. With their help, we have done our best to emulate the special feeling of the Blossoms Bazaar through our virtual Bazaar.

*Masks and physical distancing will be required. Lotus will follow current Monroe County Health Department Covid precautions.

We have reimagined the 26th Annual Lotus Blossoms to adapt to the world we find ourselves in during this pandemic. The Lotus staff is working tirelessly to ensure that a full range of virtual and hands-on arts activities and programming will reach thousands of students, families, and community members in South Central Indiana this year.

Lotus will share exclusive pre-recorded performances by world-class artists such as Vox Sambou, Yungchen Lhamo, Elida Almeida, and Violet Duncan, as well as live-streamed lecture/demos with Joshua Thompson and Salaam.

In addition to these concerts, the Lotus Blossoms World Bazaar has been imaginatively reconfigured into Bazaar Outreach kits that contain 20+ hands-on, multicultural activities, with links to accompanying how-to videos, made in collaboration with community partners. These kits will be distributed by the thousands to students in Monroe County and community members in the Bloomington area. Register to pick up your Free kit HERE!

At a time when extracurricular cultural activities at schools and organizations are vastly reduced, our arts programming is crucial. Performances and resources like these connect our community with the world, opening hearts and minds to other cultures and other lived experiences. Music and art allow us to heal and to grow together.

Thank you, 2021 Lotus Blossoms Sponsors and Grantors!
