Whether you’re an artist\, builder\, painter\, musician\, costume maker\, volunteer\, storyteller\, lantern carrier\, or just someone who wants to make something beautiful with other people… there’s a place for you here. \nThis year we’ll gather for:\n✨ Open conversations about arts in the community\n✨ Planning and building the Lotus Fest Parade\n✨ Arts Village activations and interactive experiences\n✨ Weekly collaborative art projects we create together \nThe major collaborative project led by KP this season will be the Lanterns of Luminaria\, helping light the path of Lotus Fest weekend with community-made lanterns\, movement\, and glowing art. We’ll also host a community Flag Project with guest leaders and additional collaborative builds throughout the season. \nNo pressure. No experience required. It is imagined\, designed\, built\, and brought to life by a community of volunteers. The Venue Committee helps transform festival spaces into welcoming places for connection\, creativity\, and cultural celebration. \nAs a member of the Venue Committee\, you can expect to: \n✨ Help design and create festival signage\n✨ Assist with decorating and beautifying festival spaces\n✨ Support venue setup before the festival\n✨ Help with teardown after the festival\n✨ Collaborate with a team of creative and community-minded volunteers\n✨ Attend committee meetings and contribute ideas throughout the summer \nNo special experience is required\, just a willingness to pitch in\, work as part of a team\, and help create an incredible festival experience for thousands of attendees. \nThis committee is hands-on. Some volunteers enjoy the creative design side\, while others enjoy building\, organizing\, moving materials\, and making sure everything comes together smoothly. DESCRIPTION:Friday October 2nd from 6PM – 10PM\nSaturday October 3rd from 6PM – 10PM\nKirkwood on the Square (Between College Ave and Walnut)\nThe Arts Village is where creativity comes to life during the festival weekend. Wander through a vibrant evening atmosphere filled with live art demonstrations\, interactive activities\, local and regional artists\, and a Night Bazaar celebrating handmade work\, creativity\, and community. Discover new artists\, try your hand at creative experiences\, and enjoy the energy of the festival after dark. \nDuring the festival-wide break at 8:30 PM Friday evening\, enjoy a special Taste of the IU Drumline bringing rhythm and excitement to the heart of downtown. Then on Saturday evening\, the 2026 Parade returns\, lighting up the streets with music\, movement\, and celebration once again. \nThe Arts Village is alive from 6 PM – 10 PM on Friday\, October 2nd and Saturday\, October 3rd\, 2026. This is a free event to attend. Donations are appreciated and help support the mission of the Lotus Education and Arts Foundation. \nInterested in participating as an artist?
