The 11th Annual Percussive Dance Extravaganza and Square Dance breaks new ground in 2018. After ten years of presenting the concert on a Thursday night, the event has found a new home at Mike’s Dance Barn and will take place on Saturday March 3, 2018. The Foot Squad continues to explore new percussive work and is excited to premiere its newest piece, jigging and paddling through some great tunes. In keeping with trying something new, the Extravaganza will pair a one-hour and fifteen minute performance with a two-hour square dance, called by Tamara Loewenthal. Get ready to stand up and shake a leg!
For the 11th Annual event, old friends and bona fide Old Time musicians Jim Nelson and Dedo Norris will be back to grace the stage. Hailing from St Louis, Missouri, these two bring a deep love for the music and have a strong connection with the band’s core band, fiddler Jamie Gans and banjoist Sam Bartlett. They will rock the dance tunes and keep your toes tappin’.
