Quinten “Lotus” Dickey (1911-1989) was one of our state’s most important tradition-bearers for both the song and fiddle music of southern Indiana, specifically Orange County. He was also known for his openness to all people and all cultures, a welcoming spirit that partly inspired the naming of our Festival. Through music and stories, the Lotus Dickey Tribute shares this legacy with a new generation at Lotus in the Park, honoring his original songs and fiddle compositions as well as his appreciation for the traditional tunes and songs that he learned from his community. Participants in the Tribute will include Mark Feddersen, Janne Henshaw, Grey Larsen, Bob Lucas, Nan McEntire, Travis Puntarelli, and Paul Tyler.
