Festival Arts Village

  • Friday-Saturday, Sept. 28-29, 11am-11pm (approx.)
  • 6th St. between Walnut & Washington

    Community Mandala
    A design inspired by cooperative neighborhood spirit, and mirroring the mandala being created in Fountain Square. An opportunity for to contribute to an image of the colors, patterns, and textures of life in Bloomington.

    Arts Village Canopy
    Featuring work of Jackson Creek Middle School art students, with designs based on cultural traditions from around the world.

    Inflatable Sculptures
    Designed and contructed by students in the IU School of Fine Arts Textile Department.

Lotus Art Bikes

  • September 18-30 / A fleet of "art bikes" -- donated by community members and rebailitated by groups led by artist Joe LaMantia -- will be on display at selected downtown businesses, and featuring at the festival during the weekend. Help decorate a Lotus bike at Lotus in the Park...

Festival Processions

  • Friday, Sept. 28 & Saturday, Sept. 29 / 5-6:30pm

    Friday: Individual parade "krewes" from different parts of Bloomington converge on the Courthouse Square on Friday in a carnival of color, music, dancing, and community spirit, to help launch the 2007 Lotus World Music & Arts Festival.

    Saturday: Meet at Lotus in the Park (in Third Street Park) at 5:45pm for a parade to Festival Headquarters on Kirkwood Ave. led by Portland's March Fourth Marching Band.
