Lotus in the Park — a free afternoon of music, art, and hands-on fun — is made possible with support from the City of Bloomington. Activities are great for all ages, and Bloomingfoods is on hand with food and drink to keep you fuelled. Hands-On Workshops
IU Global Education Pavilion
- Lotus Dickey Old-Time Music & Song / 1pm, with Grey Larsen & Mark Feddersen—Songs and tunes from the repertoire of Lotus Dickey (1911-1989), the Orange County folk musician for whom the Lotus Festival is in part named. Bring your fiddles or guitars!
- World Song with Chic Gamine / 2:30pm, a cappella traditions with members of Canada's Chic Gamine
- Percussion & Dance from Guinea / 4pm with members of Amazones (Women Drummers of Guinea)

Arts Pavilion / Throughout the afternoon
Make-and-take projects:
- Stamp your own parade flag with carved blocks based on African Adinkra printing traditions
- Construct a parade noisemaker
- Help decorate a Lotus "art bike," and bring your own bike helmet to decorate
Lotus Parade to Kirkwood Avenue
featuring Portland's March Fourth Marching Band
- 5:45pm / Join the parade from Third Street Park to Kirkwood Ave. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
